What's New in Version 4.1

· HTML Browser Extensions.  The integrated browser session now supports many extensions to build more robust data collection applications.  These extensions allow you to remap keys within browser pages, control the text input boxes, and ease handling of scanner input.  Also, most of the Symbol Pocket Browser and Intermec IBrowse Meta tags are supported to provide a robust environment for both TE and web-based applications.  The HTML browser is only available on Pocket PC 2002 based devices.

· Improved Licensing.  License keys are now based on device serial numbers or MAC addresses.  Licenses are now coupled to devices and ease license compliance management.  You no longer need to maintain device counts independently or worry about liability for license theft. After purchasing a license, you must provide the “Device ID” displayed in the Registration Dialog to Naurtech prior to obtaining your registration key.

· Information Popups.  Popup information windows with device serial number, IP address, MAC address, and battery status can now be displayed.  These windows can be bound to keys or context menus.

· Full Screen Mode for Pocket PC. You can now hide the full “Start Bar” and the application menu on Pocket PC devices to provide full-screen display.  You may still elect to have a KeyBar to provide access to essential actions.  When configured for full screen mode, a special context menu is available in the upper left corner of the screen to gain access to the program configuration.

· Context Menus.   Now Pocket PC, Windows CE, and Windows CE.NET devices can display a context menu when you tap and hold the stylus on the screen.  This context menu can be configured within the KeyBar configuration pages.

· All patch fixes and enhancements since release 4.0

Install Instructions

After downloading, you should have the following files in your local directory

                CETerm_xxx_yyy.CAB

                CETerm.ini

                readme.txt

                Setup.exe

where xxx is the form factor descriptor for the target CE device.

where yyy is the CPU platform descriptor for the target CE device.

The "CETerm" product name in the packaged files may be different for single emulation client products. For clarity, we will just use "CETerm".

You may have more than one .CAB file in the zip packaging.

1.       Make sure your handheld device is connected to your desktop.

2.       Make sure you have ActiveSync installed. ActiveSync 3.5 or greater is recommended. You can download a free copy from Microsoft at (http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/downloads/default.asp)

3.       Run Setup.exe

4.       This will launch the application manager to install CETerm on your device.

5.       If you have not installed CETerm before, the application manager will prompt you to install in the default directory. Select Yes.

6.       If you have installed CETerm previously, you can install over your existing installation.

7.       Once installed, you will see "Naurtech CETerm" in your <Start><Programs> menu. For HPC platform devices, you will also see a shortcut on the desktop.

If you have any installation problems, please refer to articles on our support page. If the issue remains unresolved, contact us at support@naurtech.com
