Per prima cosa consiglio di non comprare la wire-less web cam  WVC54GC-EU della linksys(cisco) perche' 
e' stata creata per funzionare solo con windows e gli activex.
Ma se avete fatto l'errore che ho fatto io acquistandola senza prima verificare se poteva girare con linux,
ecco cosa ho fatto io:

Prima di tutto ho cercato in internet trovando solo conferma al fatto che non poteva girare su linux, 
a parte qualche work-around con vlc, vedi piu' sotto.
Dopo parecchi tentativi, sono riuscito anche a farla funzionare con IE in Wine su mandriva 2007.
la versione di wine e' :wine-0.9.23-mdk.i586.rpm
Ho usato anche wine-config-sidenet-1.9.1.tgz

Here is however a better way to view the video without using IE and the expired activeX.

Download VLC for your favourite OS at:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

open it, and go to File->Open Network, and type
your_cammera_ip/img/video.asf
in the HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS box.

urpmi libdvdcss2 libdvdplay0 wxvlc vlc-plugin-a52 vlc-plugin-ogg vlc-plugin-mad

You didnt indicate what model camera . I know its very easy to insert the video from a wvc54g into a 
webpage by inserting the following code into the webpage .

Just change the value = http://IPort/ to that of your public ip address & port used . Of course you need to 
have that port forwarded on your router & either a static ip or use sololink DDNS.
